Painting: Acrylic, collage on Paper.
In this teetering stack series, my aim was to create a precarious balance that translate the vulnerability of human existence. By presenting a stack of things and shapes the verge of collapse or dispersal, I wanted to express the relentless and possibly futile human effort to go on and build (a sense of self, a life, accomplishments, a legacy), to find significance and meaning despite the incoherence of the sum of fragments. I specifically thought of Sartre who writes about “the constructions created by people to hide the anguish of an incomplete existence”.
