Art Description

Painting: Acrylic on Canvas.

Terns are very beautiful sea birds with long tail feathers and crescent moon shaped wings. The background expresses in paint the ocean waves breaking on the beach, using reflective illusions to create a floating surface. One breed of terns is very rare in New Zealand with only a handful left. A fragile delicate bird, which is often seen flying above the powerful, roiling seas. This paradox always captures my imagination.
