About The Artwork
I love van gogh, I love Texas, I love wildflowers, I love irises. This is an oil on heavy watercolor paper...Probably 200 lb cold pressed. There is an acrylic underpainting. It followes the rule of fat over lean. That way the oils are not sucked into the paper to lose their brilliance. I use Grumbacher oils. I did not set out to copy van gogh's style as I consider it too masculine but as I progressed and I tried to make the painting better looking to the eye, I slid into his style.
