About The Artwork
These two paintings correlated organically and formed a diptych of libido and thanatos. They naturally emphasized each other's meanings and metaphors. Only the symbols of bananas and red falling drapery gives us a hint to life and death instincts - libido and thanatos. This diptych also represents gender in quite a classical way - a woman as a fragile and soft, and a man as a strong and dominative figure.
