There was a time when all was peace and joy on Earth, when my K’iche’ Mayan ancestors in Guatemala, the Children of Maize, celebrated Thanksgiving to the Centre of Nature in gratitude for its love and peace. Tortillas and beans were always in great abundance. This work represents community, as the family comes together in the kitchen to give thanks for their many blessings.
