ABOUT THE ARTWORK
For 'The Romantic Escape' I organised several shoots with models wearing costumes that I had made myself. I took photographs and shot 8mm movie that I used for paintings and drawings. The women in this painting have their eyes covered in black. The eyes are the mirrors of the soul but these eyes are smeared. Is this a happy picknick? Or is there more than meets the eye as the saying that says: Where there is smoke, there is fire?
