Although there are heads and faces, but the figures of Erika Seywald cannot always be seen at the first moment. Bodies, clothes, light, shadows and gaps are equally weighted in an abstract image space. The pictures are not an image space in the usual sense with numerous dimensions. Time and sphere limits seem to be removed. Dreaming figures and dreams, thinking figures and imagination can all be found in just one picture: Engraved and moving things, dead and living, fleeting and fossilize things. The pictures are painted in many layers. Corundum and quartz sand are used to form a structured and plastic surface.
