The Dance of the Crane Painting

L. Patheesan is a Maths tutor and a versatile multi-media artist who is member of the Sri Lankan Tamil diaspora based in London who was captivated by the beauty of Bharathanatyam dance and Carnatic music from a young age. She often incorporates natural imagery and codes in her work that mirror the emotion and abstract concepts conveyed by the dance postures whilst adding depth to the subjective experience of her paintings and digital works for viewers. Her other works range from abstract watercolour paintings expressing the beauty of nature to pencil and ink drawings exploring the subconscious mind. She also experiments with generative art to depict excerpts from Hindu epics and mythology as well as borrowing from rich and diverse Eastern philosophies and symbolism to create her generative art seed concepts.
