The many questions that resonate from a fleeting moment of doubt - that is what this painting explores. From the irregular fingers that are raised to the mouth in ponderment, to thousand yard state that is tantalisingly cropped out of the picture, this piece uses deep reds and blues to capture doubt as its most intense. And, crucially, the fact that the character has several mouths attest to the fact that, when battling with doubt, one is never quite sure which is the most appropriate expression.
