The End of Earths Tunnel Painting

I've always been fond of the idea of a light at the end of the tunnel. Prior to leaving for university, I wanted to create something that reminded me of finding the beam even in the midst of the worst things in life. I recall reading something along the lines of, "you can not get rid of darkness, but you can create light". I connecting this to Charles Bukowski s 'The Laughing Heart' poem, "you can't beat death but you can beat death in life, sometimes. And the more often you learn to do it, the more light there will be." So painting is an ode to defeating the obstacles of life and being full of light, so much so that the darkness trembles. The peace ended up pulling out a spiritual/religious feeling to some viewers so I was happy that I could deliver the inspiration I intended. Furthermore, this piece is made of acrylic on a glass surface. At the time I wanted to do something fast and I realized that the mirror wasn't used much. I've decided to continue this form of art and carry out this mirror theme for future pieces. Due to the inability to dissolve onto the glass surface, the paint has a texture that adds to the character of the work. It was finished in 12 hours.
