ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Kaisa is one of my 3 disability support workers. She is a 30 year old physiotherapist from Estonia and is living in Australia. She is a natural beauty and has a very soft, gentle, nature. Kaisa sat for this portrait in my kitchen during the April 2020 COVID-19 lockdown. Being a healthcare worker, Kaisa was allowed to access our house as my carer during the lockdown. I have multiple sclerosis and need assistance for daily living. I have stylised the portrait according to my own aesthetic sense, with elongated neck and limbs. I studied History of Art at Oxford University, UK and admire the elongated style of late Renaissance/Mannerist artists, Michelangeo, El Greco and Parmigianino.
