THE TRUTH OF ART/THE FACE When an artist begins to create, theoretical battles begin at the same time… confrontational battles, battles of influences, battles of creativity, perceptions, obsessions, beliefs, memories, quests, techniques, currents, images of fantasy, visions, emotions, cultivation, and education. His concern is to use these weapons, and fight along with them... to decode, to transform, to dress with colors and symbols and shapes and drawings and dimensions and forms... to infuse with breath, to give voice, to channel light, to release touch, to create existence and sensations, identity, life. Through this battle, this odyssey of completion of an artwork, he discovers his own path of friction and anticipation for the evolution of his own self. The face, the Ego... The capstone of art is its Truth.

Bio: Chris Masouras has been an amateur artist for over 15 years. He is painting and creating handcrafts with recyclable materials and garbage, following the current of Arte Povera. Being self-taught, he studies and follows the trends of visual arts from an early age and he is inspired by everyday life and his familiar environment. Influenced by the Bauhaus movement and Wassily Kandinsky, Chris’s artworks consistently demonstrate a particular interest in the formal elements of composition such as structure, geometry, shape, colors and light. The last 5 years his daily life has been accompanied by Parkinson's disease, a condition that gave him even greater force to create artworks, despite all inconveniences. He lives in Thessaloniki, Greece and his work can be found in private collections throughout the country. Artist Statement: Between abstraction and realism my artwork is a way to reexplore the word around me. I believe that being an artist is much about discovery and personal vision. Technically, I am fascinated by geometry and the way colors can create a deep emotional tension to the viewer.
