About The Artwork

The triptych is made with acrylic paints on brushed wood, combined with metal details. Matte varnish, pendants are ready. The triptych received the "Jury's Choice" medal at the XXIV International Salon of Contemporary Art, Esart Gallery, Barcelona, 2023 Earthquake... You do not feel any support under your feet, you do not know where to run, you hear a frightening roar approaching... But now it's over - and what remains? Fragments - fallen ancient churches, dilapidated frescoes, scattered families and friends, truncated vaulted relationships-during an earthquake everything manifests itself, and even relatives open from the unexpectedly unfamiliar side. All this now needs to be rebuilt, repaired, combined, modified. Repair and consolidation processes: what is it? Rigidity, structures, rules, regulations, laws? Or tenderness, attention, care? The first is easier. But what will come out from under the metal brackets and how will it live? Earthquake Series We started the series in the year 2022. Visually, the images in the series are largely inspired by Abruzzo, the Italian mountainous region in which we live. Cities still show signs of destruction after the last earthquake in 2017, while in the mountains among the trees there are clearly visible signs of avalanches.

We are the Pavlovsky family: mathematically trained metal designer Alexander, artist and art historian (as well as poet and journalist) Nikita/Onda, and graphic designer and illustrator Anastasia. Dad, son and mom. We decided to work as a group in January 2020. We like to discuss and compare ideas, we are interested in creating contact with each other! We have a background of different creative specialties and we believe that this difference, if well understood, gives an interesting and unique result. We create paintings, panels and objects at the intersection of art and craft design entirely by hand. We are close to the concept of mutual creativity of man, nature and time. Therefore, we usually use materials with a history: old industrial metal, recycled quartz and glass, old wood. We strive to preserve and reveal the beauty of materials with traces of time.. We are trying to combine formal and conceptual elements, the connection between philosophy and technique/material is important to us. Our works "slow down" the viewer, giving him the necessary pause for reflection and sensory perception. This interweaving of meaning and feeling is our way of communicating with the viewer. We talk about the problems of the modern world in the language of handicraft technologies and handwork. Since the spring of 2022 we have been living in Italy, in Abruzzo, which we have known and loved for many years and here we create our works.
