About The Artwork
My style can be described as images coming from the subconscious mind which are laid down on the canvas. Even though it feels like everything depends just on you and your movements, but in the end the final result is surprisingly unexpected and it becomes clear that you are only a ‘tool’, a mediator. Sometimes colors and halftones lie down on my canvas lightly and gracefully, sometimes with a bit of complexity and sometimes as if of a sudden a drop of paint falls just right in its place and finalizes the whole composition perfectly. Light, movement and space - the 3 elements that are very important for me to be felt in my works. I wish that the observer would be seized by a feeling of infinity.

I am based in Lithuania, where in 1986 I graduated from Vilnius Academy of Arts majoring in textile design. For quite a few years I was into Batik and produced authentic designs on textiles. Painting on canvas came to my life two decades ago. Early works of mine distinguished by a recognisable style - building a scene from tiny squares-pixels like mosaic. Lots of patience and concentration was an inseparable part of my art. My style evolved significantly after 2017 - when hotel Pacai (a luxury hotel set in a 17th-century mansion in the heart of Vilnus old town, also a member of Design Hotels™, https://hotelpacai.com/en) asked me to paint 172 big scale pieces for them. I felt as if I was ‘unchained’ and freed after those artworks were finalized. I continue using the new style and it appeals to me even more. In the last few years my works were presented in exhibitions in Germany, Paris, International Contemporary Art Fair - ArtVilnius and various local expositions.
