Jenny Toft is a Devon-based contemporary painter and MA Fine Art graduate whose work has been featured in a curated collection of Saatchi Art’s UK best-selling artists. Her paintings are held in private collections internationally. Her practice explores the Architecture of Memory — examining how surfaces hold traces of time, identity and erosion. Alongside her painting practice, Jenny renovated early 20th-century properties, personally stripping back layers of paint and plaster to uncover original features before restoring and finishing the spaces. This direct engagement with architectural surfaces informs her approach to the canvas. Working across abstracted coastal landscapes and psychologically charged figurative works, she builds her paintings through layering, staining and controlled abrasion. Surfaces are constructed, disturbed and reworked, allowing structural memory and material residue to emerge. Through material depth and restraint, her work investigates what survives — in landscape, architecture and human presence.
