ABOUT THE ARTWORK
"The Gift" was inspired by a photograph taken of my son who was born on Veterans Day. I found his positioning to be very classical and visually appealing. I replaced the blanket in which he was wrapped with an American flag to help explain the purpose of the image and to add a dramatic element, along with the clouds in the background. I purposefully portrayed the child in an illuminated manner. I have received quite a few interpretations of this piece which are all quite interesting. I will leave this to each viewer to interpret what they will. This piece is custom framed with a double frame that adds the perfect feel to the work. "The Gift" has no texture other than that of the canvas on which it was painted. 24"x 48" is the dimension of the original work without the frame. With the frame the piece measures 30 1/8"x 54 1/8"x 2". The artist retains the right to sell reproductions in any form.
