About The Artwork
When I visited one of the forests called Dandeli in Karnataka, I was amazed by the personality of this great bird, the Hornbill. They are called 'Farmer of the Forest', and 'Forest Engineers' as they play a key role in dispersing seeds of tropical trees. If hornbills are found in the forest, then the forest is considered a dense Forest! Another fun fact about hornbills is that they choose their partner and remain with the same partner for the rest of life. Hornbills indicate the prosperity and balance of the forest they build nests.
