The Great Wall, China Painting

If the many magnificent sites in China, the Great Wall doesn’t fail to impress. When you view it first hand the first thing that strikes you is how steep each section is, the second is the fact that it meanders like a river through the mountains, the third is the sheer scale. The amount of man hours which must have gone into its creation is staggering. On the day depicted the sun was very bright and overhead casting little shadow. I hope that I have managed to convey the scale and textures of The Great Wall in all its magnificence. The style is representational as my objective was for observers to imagine they were at the scene.
