The Guardian Painting

My big cat artworks passion was born out of a bittersweet friendship with an aging crippled lion that had lived in our friends’ animal sanctuary. Despite his body deteriorating, when called he would arise walking with a staggered arthritic gait that robbed him of his once mighty presence. Yet, when I looked him in his eyes, though the ferocity subdued, there remained yet that majestic dignity. Though riddled in pain, he was bound by a duty to greet those who loved him. They say the key to immortality is to have lived a life worth remembering. Every artwork I create owes inspiration and houses the spirit of one regal life never lost. My hope is by using high grade sculpting gels to create realistic texturing projects the majestic spirit of the real being upon all that view it.
