About The Artwork

Horror has always been a major theme of my work. In previous years, this has been explored through abstraction with the feminine grotesque. This current series I’m working on is far more narrative driven and deeply tied to the established visual language of pulp art from the 1930s-50s. As seen with my collage work, I’m very interested in taking established iconography + bending it to articulate my own meaning and point of view. I’m a believer in fantasy becoming more real than the world we actually know and that through hyper-stylized and cinematic imagery, an artist can elicit an emotion or experience far more captivating and resonating than a ubiquitous genre painting.
