This one shows the staple hole
Acrylic on cotton rag paper unframed. I use staples to attach the paper to a board for painting, so the edges have staple holes, which can be framed with or without them showing. I like the staple holes as it adds a rustic, organic feel which is characteristic of paper. This piece has a characterful organic feel because of the staple holes, splashes of paint and slight variations of the paint film. Something I strive for in my work.

Carol says: “After painting professionally for 33 years I still find it an extremely exciting and magical process. I try to get beyond ‘expressing’ myself, to allow a creative energy straight from nature and the cosmos.
