About The Artwork

This painting is a play on the movie title Manchurian candidate, which was in part about mind control... I thought it would be fun to paint something that suggested that the psychedelic experience is a kind of hijacking of the mind. This is meant to be a fun painting, I'm not trying to be too serious. It's painted on a nice cradled birch board and is unframed but has painted edges and a hanging wire. It was intended to hang without a frame and looks great as is.

I'm an American artist, designer and writer living in the greater Seattle area of Washington State. I studied commercial art in Seattle in the early 90s. Although I had an introduction to painting at this time, I'm mostly self-taught. I have works in both oil and acrylic and I'm a skilled draftsman who mastered pencil and pen drawings early on. The creative process is my passion and my way to connect to spirit. My paintings are love letters to the mysterious spirit of nature. The animals, trees and plants that I paint all aim to illustrate the mystical essence of life.
