The One That Got Away Painting

.....was it a person, experience or beast? We've all experienced a loss of some sort in our life and this painting initially began as a tribute to a lost love then was taken over by the emotions of my giving up music to when a beloved dog ran away. Many layers representing lots of emotions and experiences are poured onto this 8" x 8" x 1.5" canvas. I used gesso; acrylic paints; ephemera; upcycled cardboard (from a clean pizza box!); gelly pens; paint scraps and shiny gold metallic paint to create this little wonder. It is finished with 2 coats of protective UV varnish in a satin finish; signed on the front and back and carefully shipped, ready to hang.
