Thank you. ________________________ I painted this piece at a time when I was actively reclaiming my sensuality without shame. It was a time of incredible growth, empowerment, and self-realization. I saw how I could be a powerful woman simply as myself with my reclaimed sensuality. I've never felt such raw power before. It was a truly liberating time, and one I want all women to be able to feel. Each colorful circle that bubbles up from the female body represents an experience of pure, unapologetic, joyful pleasure. As the painting came to life, I felt a growing sense of empowerment and connection to my sensuality in a way I had never before. After a long time of not feeling, or not wanting to feel, I was able to feel deeply again, and to reclaim my agency, power, independence, sensuality and passion. This painting brought me out of my decade long sensual and emotional slumber and into a life filled with passion with a capital P. The physical act of painting this piece also served to ground me at this time, which was important, as so much excitement felt overwhelming. For this reason, this painting holds power, sensuality, permission, and approval for all things pleasurable and affirming. I hope all women and men who view this painting will give themselves the kind of permission, approval and playful abandon that will allow them to tap into and liberate their sensual power and passion, on whatever level they desire. Let this piece be a reminder to viewers that pleasure can truly heal. I hope it gives others, as it did for me, the permission to live the sensual and joyful life they truly desire.
