Hey there, I'm Aman Abdi, a poet, writer, and artist who found my true calling in the vibrant world of painting. My medium of choice is acrylic; through its colourful strokes, I weave stories that transcend the canvas. My artistic journey is deeply intertwined with my personal experiences. As an individual with autism, ADHD, and pareidolia, I've embarked on a unique voyage of self-expression. Within the chaos of my mind, I've discovered a way to transform it into something beautiful. Every brushstroke is a channel for my emotions, a gateway to create hidden faces, captivating scenery, and tales that linger within the depths of my art. Surprisingly, my journey into the painting world began recently, amid the lockdown blues in January 2021. It's been an incredible journey, and I've embraced this newfound passion with open arms. One of my proudest moments was having my painting titled 'Self-portrait of a Schizophrenic' selected for the prestigious 2022 ING Discerning Eye exhibition at the Mall galleries. This recognition has fueled my determination to push boundaries and continue sharing my art with the world. As for my painting style, I find solace in not fitting into a specific mould. I'm unapologetically authentic, and my art reflects that. I don't adhere to predefined styles, but let my intuition guide me. What emerges on the canvas is a true reflection of who I am.
