The Reception Desk Painting

Reception Desk The painting shows the Opera Entrance Hall inside the Princess Palace Berlin, in the street named "Unter den Linden 5". It shows the former, old decoration but already in the beginning of a major renovation process. We do not know, how much will be left of the old architecture in baroque / classicism. On a sunny day, when I passed it, it seemed that the whole building was opened up and the stairs leading into the sky. On the left side is the reception desk, where many people, famous and not famous, in previous times, checked in for an afternoon or evening. You went right to the Opera Cafe and upstairs to a small Theater.
