About The Artwork
"The Rose of the Nightingale " is a painting from a series of miniatures inspired from a manuscript I illuminated ... the gold from the pages as I was writing and painting the pages of the book of old somehow seeped onto the canvas and the little flowers as if flew out of today and into a dream world of time long forgotten . The work is made with the finessed pigments from which I make my own tempera and oil paint and finished with gold leaf .and hand made varnish .
