The Same As It Never Was Painting

Reflecting the language of the streets, these bright, crisp transitions describe paths and intersections of life. Working primarily in aerosol, these works capture the vibrant nature of the art form. "The Same As It Never Was" is a departure from the more abstract forms and dynamic shapes seen in most of my work. It describes the logical side of the brain while creating the illusion of different colours based on contrast, which in its self is illogical. My goal for this piece is to draw the viewer in and explore those contrasts. I hope there is a mesmerizing effect to the eye, constantly drawn to the contrasting areas, then floating to the soft, pastel like colours. Aerosol is my choice of medium. It has been the medium I feel most comfortable with for the last 25 years. I want to explore the application of aerosol in hopes to bring a comfort with the general public with the art form.
