Abstract 1910.Although we already have an example of abstraction from the first art created by humans (from prehistoric caves to the decorations in Romanesque churches), Kandinsky is officially the first to theorize about this (apart from the neoplasticists or the suprematists, and a shortly before isolated figures such as Hilma af Klint). Abstract art exists independently of reality, it distances it. Abstract art does not actually represent anything, but since that is impossible (even a blank canvas represents something!), abstract artists pursued (pulled) two different aspects: On the one hand, expressive abstract art: subjective and spontaneous, sometimes improvised, where the protagonist is the expressiveness of the artist, who dispenses with structure and focuses on the gesture, the material and the feeling that the work provokes. It is therefore highly ambiguous and interpretable. On the other hand, there is geometric abstract art: which aims to be objective and universal, planned, in which the composition is structured and which avoids all expressiveness through the use of geometry. It usually defends an impersonal bill and aims to evoke clarity and precision. One thing became clear to me: that objectivity, the description of the object, was not necessary in my paintings and that it actually harmed them... Kandinsky Artist; Aldo Suarez. Thank you Saatchi Art for the opportunity to show my art; Welcome Curators, Collectors and art lovers. Aldo Suarez Cuban American, Artist Statement : I was born in Camaguey Cuba in 1954. The inspiration for my figurative works comes from impressions of everyday life, many of these paintings focus on the theme of women and represent them as a source of life and love. I use form, texture, and color in the contemporary dialogue between the material and the spiritual stirred by extreme texture and intentional use of color. My abstract works are conceptual pieces, they are an expression of the desires of personal feelings, feelings, desires, goals in life. Painting for me is very cathartic and it is the most articulate way to express my passion fusing introspection and visual spectacle, it is rich and colorful and intense, it captures each of my senses. My exuberant painting reflects the energy and passion for life. I am a Master of Fine Arts graduated from the San Alejandro Academy in 1983 and the I.S.A. Higher University Institute of Art, in 1991 both prestigious academies in the world, located in the city of Havana Cuba. I immigrated to the United States in 1991 and in 1997 I became a US citizen.
