The technique used is acryilic on canvas in multiple layers, all the details are made in ink, using a very laborious technique called pointilism. The painting addresses the viewer emotionally, offering the possibility of different interpretations, depending on his own spiritual, emotional, intellectual, cultural context. The atmosphere is static; on a dark background the characters are outlined - enveloped in light, a girl and a dragonfly focuse on the presence of a plastic bag floating on water. The pure concept of darkness corresponds to primigenial chaos. According to the French philosopher, Rene Guénon, light is the basic principle behind differentiation and hierarchical order. Only the gloom preceding the Fiat Lux contains undeveloped potentialities which give rise to chaos, hence, the darkness introduced into the world, after the advent of light, is regressive. The black plastic bag actually embodies the idea of mystery, inducing the temptation to be opened, which is why it is tight, floating to a point where it became an obstacle in the girl’s exploration. Her presence in the water means purification, the need for detachment of the solid matter, the attempt to know oneself, while confronting with a potential source of both secrets and answers. The water symbolizes regeneration through the effect of the transitional powers (implying change, destruction and re-creation) of the ‘primordial waters’. Immersion in water signifies a return to the preformal state, with a sense of death and annihilation on the one hand, but of rebirth and regeneration on the other, since immersion intensifies the life-force. Curiosity, temptation, fear, the need for disclosure and understanding are integrated by the living ephemeral represented by the dragonfly. It prefers the solid matter as a place of refuge or rest, while it defies the laws of dynamics when sitting on the girl's hand reflected on the water. The nebulous background crossed by the ectoplasm competes with the dichotomy between falls and elevation, some of them having the direction of the water, while those near the girl's face suggest the ascent. The temptation of the forbidden fruit, the plastic bag that does not belong to her, can be interpreted in many ways, but I believe that there is a curiosity in us on account of our own salvation. The mystery that comes in the form of an unexpected obstacle is maybe more important for our spiritual journey and self-knowledge as it is, without revealing its mysteries or truths that don’t belong to us.

Born in 1982, Timişoara, Romania. Based in Timişoara, Romania. "My current artistic interest is focused on the young feminine figure, not as a portrait but as an archetypal vehicle for different human emotions as well as for certain aspects of metamorphosis. Delicate faces, nostalgic eyes searching the horizon, expressions of fear, hope, honesty, trust, disappointment, love, passion, regrets and expectations with only a glimpse of the unbreakable feminine strength behind them. I use narrative driven images with symbolic twists and turns embedded with elements from the mineral world, plants and fauna, all are interwoven to act as reflections of my personal epiphanies. My work reveals my interest in the escapism and melancholy of the 19th century Romantic aesthetics and the contemporary social environment- a melancholic attitude towards the lost spiritual values, as well as a deep interest for what lies beneath the surface of daily life."
