The painting depicts a sunset in the mountains. In the foreground, we can see a path that goes into the distance, along which the wanderer is walking with his companion-a donkey. But who is this wanderer? Perhaps it is a saint or a preacher who acts as a prototype of morality in the picture. Why is he leaving us? Or, on the contrary, does he lead us, like this donkey, forward to the light, through the gathering darkness of the approaching night? We see how small and almost invisible his figure is against the backdrop of the majestic mountains, his path from this seems heavy,long and almost insurmountable, but he does not give up, because the road will be mastered by the walking, and after the darkest night, dawn always comes....

My name is Ekaterina Orlova. I am an impressionist artist, studied at the Moscow State Art Institute named after Surikov, later continued my studies in the workshop of the artist Georgy Sergeyevich Kara-Murza. I was greatly influenced by the art of the great impressionists, such as Monet, Cezann, Gauguin, Van Gogh, as well as a contemporary Bato Dugarzhapov. In my work, I try to develop and adhere to the basic principles of the artistic trend of "impressionism," trying to give my works ease, airiness, fleeting.
