About The Artwork
My last piece created in 2022 is a dedication to everything this year has brought to women. From the US government attack on women’s health with the overturning of Roe v. Wade., to the strength and collective power of the Iranian women and some wins like the first black Supreme Court justice being sworn in. This piece is both an ode and a sign of protest. I chose this rather alien abstractive background in representation of the tentacle-like hands that the world engulfs around us with red stripes to represent blood that was shed as a result. I wanted this piece to feel a bit chaotic. Yet through everything happening in the world, we still stand strong!
