Painting: Acrylic, Oil, Marker, Oilbar on Canvas.
April/Mai is the time of the year when the blue iris blossom in Provence in France. Along the roads. As they did when Vincent van Gogh picked a handfull and painted his well known paintings.
I have quite a few of these 'wild irises' in my french garden and in the painting above I have tried to capture a fragment of their intensity - and their absolute need to show off.
Blue irises are determined! - and very much blue!
