Giants in the city, the Breast Project

GIANTS IN THE CITY

The word “breast” is a metaphor for “women” in general. In the early 1990’s women’s health issues, the effect of altered and idealized female images and the national obsession with artificial breasts came to everyone’s attention.
“The Breast Project” series is a multi-disciplinary project that examines contemporary female imagery in popular media. I have created a Giant breast to challenge our contemporary ideas of beauty, to counter stereotypes and to depict non-idealized women and men.
To me painting has always been a great mystery, like a secret and something I‘ve always loved. Perhaps, I get it of inheritance from my father that was immense creator and also painter. And little by little I began to express myself in this artistic demonstration, which fills me with satisfaction and hopefully it accompanies me always. I don’t measure myself – I express myself. I don’t think about rules, but instead I think about the moment.
