About The Artwork
Working from several digital photos I'd taken in pitch black surroundings, of a TV screen showing the BBC series Pride and Prejudice. By using a phone camera to take the photos, I created the first level of abstraction, taking advantage the light and flickering of the image on screen. The piece depicts two horses running through a field. This is one of the first scenes from the adaptation, where Mr Darcy and Mr Bingley are introduced to the story. Using layers of texture and colour the piece captures the energy and vibrancy of the scene.

I constantly take photos and make notes, that inspire my paintings. The use of light and mood are important themes within my work. The emotions and imagery they evoke in me when I paint, I also attempt to capture within my poetry. Painting is a cathartic release, an escapist's route to a place of release.
