The realization dawned upon me as I encountered a withered rose – even in its state of demise, it retained beauty, seduction, and allure. Reflecting on this, I recognized the potential to transform death into a new life. Like that rose, I, too, can undergo a metamorphosis. Past suffering served as the catalyst; I took my pain, worked through it, and emerged as a new version of myself. Now, amidst happiness, the challenge lies in orchestrating a similar transformation. In a departure from multicolor, vibrant art, I chose to blend two similar colors, seeking a departure from monotony. Yearning to return to the purity of white, this artistic exploration becomes a potential path forward. Executed on watercolor paper, this artwork is presented unframed. For optimal display, framing is recommended, though hardware is not included. This print edition encapsulates the essence of my journey, a testament to the continuous cycle of transformation and rebirth.

Ecuador
An Ecuadorian artist, navigates the local artistic landscape with a distinctive approach, diverging from the typical dichotomy prevalent among Quitenian artists. Rather than aligning with the bohemian left or the elite, art-educated right, Angela embraces her identity as an ambitious Quitenian with a down-to-earth perspective. Balancing her artistic pursuits with a middle-class sensibility, Angela introduces a unique voice in the narrative of Ecuador's art scene. She modestly considers herself a sui generis expressionist, influenced by her early exposure to art through her mother, Angie, and the captivating oil-painting sessions with her aunt-in-law, the esteemed artist Micaela Almeida.Angela's artistic journey began with humble doodles of flowers, symbolizing intimacy and family bonds. Her style, marked by an indiscriminate use of colors, reflects her innate creativity. Turning to digital mediums for expression, she reserves traditional materials for moments of artistic freedom. Angela, embracing vulnerability, desires a return to the simplicity of white canvases. She discreetly embeds messages in her art, inviting viewers to discover joy in nature scenes, and showcasing Quitenian humor with humility and depth.
