ABOUT THE ARTWORK

In the painting “The last mountain lion in Brazilian caatinga” a majestic puma (mountain lion) sitting atop a large, reddish-brown rock in a desert landscape, and surveying its surroundings. The background of the painting features a dramatic, sunset sky with rich hues of orange, yellow, and red, creating a vibrant and intense atmosphere. The sun, partially obscured by clouds, highlighting the presence of the wild cat within its natural habitat. The landscape is barren, with a few sparse, leafless trees scattered across the terrain, adding to the painting “The last mountain lion in the Brazilian caatinga” a sense of lonely, isolation and wilderness. The painting is signed with the initials of the author Igor Lobo on the front and the author's signature and title of the painting on the back. 100% cotton canvas. The chassis is manufactured from reforested and treated pine wood.

I was born in 1954. Always been interested in art in all its forms. I tried my hand at painting when I met a wonderful artist, who later became my good friend. But I painted mainly for myself and friends. After retirement, I moved to Brazil because was fascinated by the natural and untouched beauty of this land. Here inspiration came to me again, and I decided to restart painting. In my paintings I depict the nature and wildlife of Brazil as I see them. Realism mixes with fantasy. I hope that people from all over the world will see Brazil in a new way through my paintings. I also embody in my paintings memories from my past and moments that stick in my mind. I paint on canvas with oil because I want my works to be bright and durable.
