ABOUT THE ARTWORK

The space of the uncertainty series is devoted to contemporary social processes that lead us to a particular perception of reality and reveal a sense of the emotional and physical fragility of our existence in this contradictory, divided and conflict-filled world. All the disparate layers and patches of color scattered throughout the moving space come together to create a picture of the world that does not allow us to recognize the true nature of things, to discern the reality and to make sense of these processes by living them. All boundaries of events and elements of reality are violated, one turns into another, everything collides, nearby there are elements that conflict and at the same time are in symbiosis.Everything acts dynamically, everything is blurred, layering and is torn apart. All we can observe is a state of chaos on the edge of catastrophe and beauty. All this is to show how we currently see and interpret reality. This perception evokes feelings of uncertainty and anxiety. In my project, I turn as to the study of our information field, where there is no accurate information about anything and everything is drowned in a set of opinions and fragments of news, some of which are fake, as well as personal experience related to the impossibility of visiting Ukraine due to the military actions and not being able to find any reliable information about what is happening in my home country. I try to convey in the framework of the project, the feeling of uncertainty, blurred information, the impossibility to immerse oneself in the events that are happening simultaneously with us, the state of chaos and turbulence that pervades modern society, where behind the abundance of information hides a kind of „blindness“ and the abyss of ignorance.

I am an artist from Vienna,Austria I graduated from the State Academy of Design and Arts in Kharkov (Ukraine) with a degree in industrial design in 2000. Since then, I collaborated with ELLE-Ukraine magazine, making illustrations for their articles, worked for the advertising industry and had joint projects with various Ukrainian fashion designers.Currently, I actively participate in group exhibitions and various art projects. In my work I use transformation as a strategy. Fictional life blends with reality, and they invariably begin to influence each other. In this way my paintings reflect a fascinating and dynamic process of creating the transition of the present day into a new and mutable reality. Images imprinted in the altered, moving space of memory reveal their transformative nature.. Through the paths of the halted moment of change I expose the intimacy and sincerity of transformation. I work with abstract and figurative art, it helps me to create a visual representation of my conceptual needs as well as to blur the lines between the fictitious and the literal, the familiar and the abstract, the absurd and the serious, thus trying on the opposites.
