Irina Pavlenko (Irisha), an artist from Russia, living in Thailand. In her artistic practice, Irina explores the limits of the figurative genre. She actualizes the old pictorial tradition in new systems of knowledge , сombines an academic base and an illustrative approach. The subject of her research is self-awareness and self-identity. Irina takes inspiration from personal recollections and sourse imagery, delving into interplay between reality memory and imagination. She accentuate the presence of the silent interlocutor outside the canvas using paint’s material qualities and colors expressive potential to evoke the hazy elusive sensation of remembrance. In a world where technology and consumerism reign, she wants her paintings to reflect our universal human desire to be alive and real. In them, the artist strives to capture and convey what makes us human, to emphasize the importance of preserving our own uniqueness.
