Religion has become a barrier for the advancement of civilisation and the human condition. It has long lost its justification as an essential social engineering tool necessary for the co-existence of people and peoples. But the dirge remains the song; the anthem of our time on earth. Conflict fuels our day to day in our world; whatever the motivations - order, power, justice, material needs; we believe we are fighting the good fight. Deliverance in this world or the next will be our reward. Our children will sing in our praise and acknowledge their debt to us. God is on our side. So the narrative goes! We are blind. Perhaps: "God is not an argument, is not a syllogism. Nirvana is not an argument, it is not a conclusion; it is an experience. Unless you experience it, there is no way to even understand it – what it is. If you don’t experience it, it is just absurd, meaningless."
