About The Artwork

There is no place I'd rather be" is a call to nature and focus. The artwork was created after purchasing this print canvas from a charity shop. Adding the text and its surrounding pattern creates an air of confusion, like a vulgar, rushed doodle. The background is kept to create the impression of nature, while the text layer in front behaves like our thoughts, impulsive, raw, and contradictory. It's as if we are in the moment, but not present because we are filtered by our emotions.

Amaury Auvray (1982 a.c) is an artist of multidisciplinary talents. Originally from France (Bueil), living in Edinburgh, Scotland. In his life, he has been thrown into a maze and experiences a kaleidoscope of emotions. Usingrecycled canvas and mixed medias, his art acknowledges this path and connects with anyone who can relate to it. His paintings combine calligraphic lines and street art with school doodles to create playful mazes. Feelings, thoughts, and emotions are referred to in the hidden words. Marcel Duchamp, Ben Vautier, Keith Haring, Jace, and Banksy are among his influences. As a result of moving, divorce, and death around him, he struggled in school for many years. In high school, Amaury specialized in art and received a bachelor degree with honors. As a result, he pursued industrial design for two years and received a diploma (BTEC), but realized that this was just another way of pushing consumerism. Following this, he attended the "Beaux Arts" school for another two years in search of answers. Without any response, he began to travel and live in many countries throughout Europe. Since then, he has worked in multiple fields, accomplished many goals, and expressed himself in many artistic ways.
