About The Artwork
The central element of the painting is a huge plastic straw. I painted it in light yellow color to make a strong contrast to the faded gray-green landscape. Sky looks gray and cloudy to convey a gloomy mood. In this painting, the straw that is usually used for drinking cocktails, is placed in the pond. It is a metaphor for taking life out of our natural ecosystem.
