ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The inspiration for painting the Three Sisters came from the relationship with my own two sisters. I started the painting with myself and my two sisters in mind. I wanted to show the connection between us. That is why I merged the bottom of the characters together. We are still separate individuals too and that is why our heads are distinctly separate. This painting was choses to be displayed at the Western Federation of Watercolor Societies spring show in Grapevine Texas. It was one of 60 paintings chosen out of 700 entries. Mary Whyte, renowned artist, was the juror.
