Flowers follow the lead of the giants’ bodies. The figures weave together amidst purple asters that urgently curl into limbs and fingers. A wildness closes in on the world of the paintings, suggesting a manic and urgent tone that clashes with the languid and regal poses of the womxn. The technicolor fantasy of Meg’s paintings show womxn draping their bodies over buildings, claiming them like thrones. Not only do they guard the structures, the womxn’s own bodies transform into a sovereign safe space in their own right—once they are finally big enough to hold the pain without consequence, they promise a new (dream)world order.
