As I climbed up towards Buckskin Pass, I climbed into the beginning of a snow storm. I love the drama of the clouds and didn't mind the snow, but as I neared the top, a deafening peal of thunder reminded me that I was above the treeline. I reluctantly turned around, but felt a thrill because the light shining through the gathering clouds above the Maroon Bells was stunning. I hurried down the mountain, watching the light on shift. My goal in painting this was to capture the dynamic beauty.

After painting this, I stretched the painting again so that the painting wraps around the edges. It is very light and can be hung with a tack as it is, or framed.

If one were to describe me, it would probably be joyful and curious. I was born in Montana and after studying art in Idaho, I ventured to Japan. In Japan, I reveled in being outside of my comfort zone, always searching for the words and beautiful places. I sold work in exhibitions, and performed as a live painter in many venues, from small gatherings with only 100 people, to large festivals with more than 10,000. I have since returned to the Rocky Mountains, where I am constantly in the mountains, exploring and dreaming.
