About The Artwork
An oil on canvas painting with smooth and fresh brushwork inspired indirectly by Giorgio Morandi or even Luc Tuymans. My goal was an economy of paint and efficient brushwork to match an equally spare subject. The qualities of oil paint are well suited for the technique here in rendering transparent plastic bottles and glossy ceramic tile. I hope you find some humor and subtle drama in this work.

My work is a commentary on my life and my ideas about painting. I try to tie my subjects to my ideas around the structure of painting, meaning how we perceive the image both functionally and literally.
