"Time Echoes" Painting

Meredith is a Texas-based painter living and working in Wimberley, in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. She received her MFA in Painting from the San Francisco Art Institute and holds BFA degrees in both Painting and Photography from Texas State University.

Working primarily in watercolor and acrylic, Meredith creates landscapes and wildlife paintings inspired by the Texas Hill Country, the American West, and places of personal significance. Her work explores the relationship between memory, place, and the natural world, using atmospheric color, light, expressive mark-making, and drawing to capture not only the appearance of a landscape, but the feeling of experiencing and remembering it.

Rather than recreating a photograph exactly, she is interested in the way memory alters what we see—how certain details sharpen while others dissolve, and how a particular landscape can become inseparable from a season, experience, or emotion.

Her paintings balance observation with interpretation, allowing loose, expressive passages to exist alongside more carefully rendered areas. Whether painting wildlife, rivers, mountains, or wide-open Texas landscapes, Meredith’s work reflects an enduring attachment to the natural world and the quiet way certain places become part of our personal histories.
