Part of a series of 12x12s with rich tones, texture and dimension that draw the viewer in. For a small piece, it has weight and impact and was inspired by the beauty of aged tin and wood as the elements work their magic. The painting is ready to hang solo or as part of a group. My abstract works are layers of several paintings built onto the canvas like an excavation site, enticing the viewer to look closer to see what lies beneath. My process includes using unusual objects and tools to create markings and mimic the beauty of weathered elements and I appreciate the juxtaposition of nature and the urban environment as they coexist. My paintings have been juried into numerous local and international exhibitions and I am a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists based in Vancouver, BC.
