*Feel free to contact me for any questions. This piece is part of a larger landscape series that I have been creating, that have been loosely based on sunset or horizon views from Greece and Japan. They are all created from memory. When painting oils, I always use this palette as it creates beautiful hues -mostly when you see it in person- and depending on the strength of lighting. I also love this palette for the warmth it brings to the surrounding space. I always use the best (well, also most expensive) materials, I believe that they are the best foundation to a piece of fine art that should stand the test of time. This piece is made on hand made prepared cotton canvas, painted with Sennelier poppy seed oil and their professional line of extra fine oil colors. Poppy seed oil dries more slowly than linseed oil, but it is clearer and has a less yellowing tendency than linseed oils. The frame wood is strong, high quality, not prone to warping.

Eva Angelaka (b.1981 in Athens, Greece) lives and works in Athens and Munich. Her past studies and 10 year long living experience in Japan and Sweden inform her artistic work. Eva Angelaka brings forth sensitivity and compassion as a methodology, contrary to systematized, digitalised and automated procedures. In her work the Japanese concept “wabi-sabi” suggests that there are entities, notions larger than human life experience, the transience and imperfection of things. She has participated in numerous exhibitions, in Greece and abroad.
