This is an original oil and acrylic painting on a large canvas, inspired by a photograph I took as a teenager of a person crouching on a street curb above a puddle after a rain storm. The literal reflective nature of the water draws on subtle themes of self reflection and contemplation of life.

The most unique thing about this painting is that the canvas is painted on both sides. This is a technique the artist Miro also implored often. Both sides of the canvas contain uniquely beautiful imagery that is otherwise unrelated.

The backside canvas painting is titled Cold as your Shadow. It was inspired by the winter and the feeling falling yet flying at the same time that is experienced sometimes in dreams. The vibrant blue and yellow are complimented by the stark white and black backdrop colors.
